(a) Contract management alignment
The Secretary of the Navy, in coordination with the Commandant of the Coast Guard, shall take such steps as are necessary to ensure that the Commandant of the Coast Guard is solely responsible for the contract management responsibilities for the Polar Security Cutter program.
(b) Limitation on Navy contracting activities
Beginning on the date that is 180 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Secretary of the Navy may not maintain a separate contracting office for the Polar Security Cutter program except as required to provide advisory support requested by the Commandant of the Coast Guard.
(c) Briefing requirement
Not later than 90 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Secretary of the Navy shall provide to the congressional defense committees a briefing describing the implementation of this section.
