Expansion of protections against reprisal or retaliation for certain tenants of privatized military housing

(1)

in subsection (b)(7), by striking and housing management office and inserting housing management office, the Chief Housing Officer of the Department of Defense, the Inspector General of the Department of Defense, the Inspector General of the military department concerned, or a Member of Congress ; and

(2)

in subsection (e)—

(A)

in paragraph (1), by striking for reporting an issue relating to a housing unit and inserting the following:

(B)

in paragraph (2)—

(i)

by redesignating subparagraphs (A) and (B) as subparagraphs (B) and (C), respectively;

(ii)

by inserting before subparagraph (B), as so redesignated, the following new subparagraph (A):

(iii)

in subparagraph (C), as so redesignated, by striking the Inspector General has taken final action and inserting the Secretary of the military department concerned has notified the Inspector General that the Secretary has taken final action .
